Tate Mason - World Center for Birds of Prey Director

Tate grew up in the Pacific Northwest devoted to the outdoors. He studied Biology at Western Washington University and then earned a Master’s degree in Raptor Biology from Boise State University. In working as an ornithologist, primarily studying owls and songbirds, Tate recognized the critical importance of engaging the general public with the objectives of scientific research. With a passion to conserve biodiversity around the world, Tate now serves as Director of the World Center for Birds of Prey in Boise, Idaho.

Monica Pittman - Curator of Birds

Beginning as a volunteer in 2009, Monica has been involved with a variety of Peregrine Fund projects. She was first employed as a hack site attendant in the Aplomado Falcon restoration project in New Mexico in 2011. Since 2017 she has been responsible for the care and training of 26 raptors at the World Center for Birds of Prey, ranging from American Kestrels to a Harpy Eagle. Monica graduated from Boise State University with a B.Sc. in Biology and Zoology. She is a Master Falconer and has sponsored several apprentice falconers.

Curtis Evans - Education Coordinator and Raptor Specialist

As the Education Coordinator at the World Center for Birds of Prey, Curtis aims to bring The Peregrine Fund’s (TPF) international conservation programs to life for our community through exhibits, tours, and events. Curtis heads up curriculum development for TPF’s school programs, and also focuses on training birds of prey. He was recently recognized by the IAATE (International Association of Avian Trainers and Educators) for exemplary training with an American Kestrel. Curtis holds a B.Sc. in Biology from Brigham Young University.

Wednesday, June 3rd at 12pm- A Tour with The Peregrine Fund! - Join us we visit the World Center for Birds of Prey and learn all about how The Peregrine Fund is conserving raptors around the world! We will have special video presentations giving us an in-depth tour of the facility with each segment followed by a live question and answer segment. There are surely to be some special avian guest appearances as well!
