Why is Boise a Special Place for Raptors?
The board members of the Birds of Prey NCA Partnership shared introductions, then gave a presentation about what makes Boise such a special place for raptors.
Martha Brabec, Ecologist for the City of Boise
Martha gave a presentation about her work coordinating habitat restoration projects and removing invasive plant species in the Boise foothills. She’ll also introduce us to the City of Boise’s carbon sequestration project.
Tim Hauck, Condor Reintroduction Program Director for The Peregrine Fund
Tim gave a presentation about the wild California condor population in Arizona and Utah, which is managed by Boise-based non-profit The Peregrine Fund. Tim will talk about conservation issues facing this population of endangered birds, as well as the devastating impact of a recent avian influenza outbreak within the population.
